Can GaN on Si compete with GaN/SiC on RF application
Hello Mr. Chen, nihao? Thank you for your question and interest in Navitas’ GaNFast power ICs (GaN-on-Si).
For ‘power’ GaN, Navitas parts are fully qualified and in mass production up to 2MHz. We have also done work with Stanford University up to 40 MHz and had very good results vs RF silicon.
For communications band (39GHz 5G frequency), GaN-on-Si is used by companies such as Qorvo for their QPF4005 front-end module for next-generation millimeter wave systems.
