Big audience for the live debut of the ‘Little Star GaN’ twins!

DUBLIN, Ireland — (PRWeb) Navitas Semiconductor today announced it had been recognized with the “Semiconductor Design Innovation Excellence Award” (年度半导体材料设计卓越创新奖) by the China Communication Industry Association (CCIA) at the annual SemiExpo exhibition in Shenzhen, PRC on December 8th. Navitas was selected based on the high performance of the company’s leading-edge GaNFast power ICs which have enabled gallium nitride (GaN) technology to transform industries from mobile chargers to data centers, solar inverters, electric EVs and mobility applications.

New, fast gallium nitride (GaN) is a next-generation power semiconductor technology that runs up to 100x faster than old, slow silicon chips, with dramatic improvements in energy savings and power density. Navitas’ GaNFast power ICs integrate GaN power (FET) with drive, control, and protection to enable up to 3x more power in half the size and weight.

“Navitas is honored to receive this prestigious award from CCIA and SemiExpo, recognizing the innovative achievement of GaNFast power ICs to accelerate charging in the 5G market,” said Charles (Yingjie) ZHA, VP and GM of Navitas China. “GaNFast has been adopted by many leading tech companies in the industry, including Xiaomi, OPPO, Lenovo and RealMe in their flagship fast chargers.”

The “Innovation Excellence” award was presented to Navitas’ Lolly (Hui) REN at the SemiExpo awards gala by Shiying XU, Chairman of the Shenzhen Semiconductor and Display Industry Association.

SemiExpo 2020 brought together over 50,000 vistors to experience the latest, leading-edge technology from over 800 electronics-industry vendors with over 80 media contacts on site to educate and inform the electronics industry of the latest innovations.

Navitas’ Jason (Yupu) TAO introduced the high performance and environmental benefits of gallium nitride in his SemiExpo presentation “Navitas GaNFast: A New Era in Fast Charging” (纳微氮化镓市场分享及展望) to broad applause from a packed audience, and with hundreds more watching via Weibo live-stream.

Long lines of visitors to the Navitas booth learned about the latest Navitas GaNFast devices and reference designs that achieve unprecedented small size, low weight and high efficiency levels, with fast-charging speeds for end products ranging from smartphones and tablets, to laptops, monitors & gaming systems.

The ‘Little GaN Star’ twin mascots – XiaoDan and XiaoJia – were a huge hit at the show both in-person and on social media, with hundreds of visitors lining up to meet them! The twins appeared live on stage, played, danced and helped with the “GaNFast Giveaway” with many thanks to our partner UIBI for gracious donation of beautiful, new dual-port 30W fast chargers.
